Retired soldier Huang Ming shared an unforgettable experience: “ After retiring from the military in 2017, I joined the fire service. One afternoon, my unit responded to a call at a farmer’s residence where a fire had broken out. Upon arrival, we learned that the blaze was intense and that two gas cylinders were present on site. We divided into exterior‑control and interior‑attack teams; I followed the team leader into the building. During the operation, the air‑breathing apparatus cylinder began to run low, so I exited through the hose line to swap it out. As I neared the exit, a water‑jet‑damaged wooden door collapsed, but because I was at a safe distance, I sustained no injuries. After replacing the cylinder, we extinguished the fire and returned to the station. That experience remains vivid in my memory to this day. ”
